- What are the YÖS Question Numbers and Durations?
There are an average of 80-100 questions in the exams, and the exam duration varies between 90 minutes and 120 minutes.
- What kind of an exam is YÖS and what does it include?
The exam content generally includes questions from Mathematics (30-40 questions), Geometry (5-15 questions) and General Ability (IQ) (40-60 questions), while questions from other courses are rarely encountered in the exams of a small number of universities. The questions asked in the Mathematics and Geometry tests are asked from the broadest curriculum and, for example, cover a wider range of topics compared to the content in the TYT-AYT exams administered in Turkey. General Ability (IQ) questions generally consist of questions that measure the candidate’s ability to comprehend numerical relationships and the ability to think abstractly. In addition, a small number of universities also apply Turkish proficiency tests (50-60 questions) in their exams, and these questions are asked in order to measure the students’ Turkish level.

There is usually a base score application in the exams and it is determined as a prerequisite for application in many universities. Base scores vary between 40-50 points.
- How are YÖS Scores Calculated?
When calculating exam scores, many universities count the correct and incorrect answers candidates give to exam questions. Universities calculate raw scores by subtracting one-fourth of the number of incorrect answers from the number of correct answers, and convert these raw scores into scores out of 100. However, some universities only consider the number of correct answers candidates give, and determine the score calculation according to the number of correct answers.
